Wedding Wednesday: Julia + Michael

March 23, 2016

Wedding Wednesday has us daydreaming of the beautiful nuptials of Julia + Michael at Rustic Acres Farm! It was such a memorable Autumn day on the farm filled with love and emotion. Rolling fields of pumpkins, fall foliage and expansive views helped set the scene for an unforgettable celebration! Our exclusive catering partner, Savor Fresh Catering, nailed it with a gourmet menu filled with fresh farm to fork cuisine and Christina Shields captured the evening expertly.

The newlyweds included a variety of creative and meaningful personal touches on the venue grounds, such as a twist on the traditional guestbook with a handmade personalized wooden jigsaw puzzle, encouraging guests to sign their names on a piece of the puzzle. This is such a unique idea that the happy couple can cherish forever!

Crisp linens lined the Farm’s tables with striking dusty purple napkins topped with custom menus, expertly placed by Garnish Event Design. The gold chivari chairs glittered in the Autumn light and brought a sense of luxury to the table.  The table settings were miniature jars of honey as a favor for guests from these two
sweethearts.

The menu was a foodies delight, with Savor’s famous Scoop on Dip Display, featuring red pepper hummus, artichoke dip, garden salsa, all accompanied with an array of house chips. Hand butlered items included cheddar bacon beignets, mini pork tacos and shrimp shooters during the cocktail reception at the barn.

Guests feasted under the tent on gourmet menu items such as Merlot braised short ribs with Yukon mashed potatoes and baby carrots, butternut squash ravioli with brown butter and crispy sage, beach BBQ chicken with fingerling potatoes and grilled asparagus.

The evening ended on a sweet note as the happy couple served apple pie with vanilla ice cream, rather than a traditional wedding cake. A towering cookie display with up to 100 dozen cookies was created using various assorted stands, trays and decorative items, provided by JPC, and guests departed with a sugar-induced smile on their face and sweet memories of the celebration.

Congratulations Julia + Michael!
